The midfielder Set-pieces from corners and free-kicks caused problems. Was given freedom to drift down the left flank yet found himself offside as the pass came in front of goal. Awarded a deserved substitution on the hour mark. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced role down the right and did plenty of defensive duties. Showed moments of class and dragged an attempt over. Replaced late on for a teammate, his rival, after being booked. 7

The winger Had the team's best chance of the first half, his shot smartly stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. As Quansah holding position, it fell to him to stretch the play on the right but his crosses from the touchline were inconsistent. Taken off with 15 to go. 6/10

The captain The decisive figure with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals in an England shirt. The opener a classic poacher’s finish while the second a classy header following a clever run from his marker. At 32, he continues to improve and England stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. Eight

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play from the left. Had a good opening following a pass by the midfielder however the keeper made the save. His replacement produced a bigger effect in his place. 5
