That Grisly Animated Movie Conclusion That Haunts Audiences

Out of every mature cartoon movies I have personally watched, no other has lingered in my mind quite like the dread-soaked conclusion of the explicitly bloody as well as deeply subversive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, the Spanish writer-director crafted a dark, somber and often savage universe with some tiny , forlorn hints of hope.

While Unicorn Wars seems like it originated from a drive to push animation even more, the filmmaker stated that it was more a try to express a widespread, multicultural theme concerning “the shared root of each battle.”

This theme is conveyed via a group of colorful pastel bears , obviously modeled after a well-known line of cuddly figures.

Being raised in a society centered on aggression as well as the war machine, numerous these creatures are consumed by slaughtering unicorns, due to a sacred text that claims them they were once kings of the forest, until these creatures expelled them.

Others did not entirely fallen for the brainwashing, and choose to try out substances and mate in the woods.

In contrast to their gentle equivalents, these bright beings have visible sexual organs and obvious urges.

For a certain notably brutal, cynical bear, the character Bluey, the conflict against unicorns becomes a path toward dominance — and especially to supremacy over his gentler, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

This bear is a bully , an obvious antisocial figure , and as terror dominates his squad and kills his teammates individually, he grabs progressively power for himself, via progressively gory, destructive ways.

Meanwhile, the horned creatures are suffering their own horror, as a spreading, destructive monster in their habitat.

“At the beginning, it appears as a lighthearted film,” the filmmaker stated. “But then it becomes a more intense and sad film. And ultimately, it transforms into a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the more whimsical films by a renowned animator, which find a naughty glee in letting cartoon characters swear, shoot each other, or sex each other up.

Afterward it becomes more akin to a more grim film by that same director, with increasingly graphic violence and a palpable relation to the real horror of battle.

In the finale, it becomes an outright theatrical horror massacre.

The fear that makes the film a perfect Halloween movie begins a lot earlier than one might expect.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the devoted gorehounds, for enthusiasts of intense movies who want to see a movie they’ve never watched previously, and are able to withstand a plot that offers unflinching brutality.

View it with the lights off without any distractions, and the conclusion will dig into your mind and stay with you.
